We have recently introduced a new product into our tile installation process…
“Marmox Ready to Tile Over Shower Bases”

These are a great time saver and completely bullet proof. Preformed with falls to enable tiling directly on to it. These are offered in a centre waste or strip drain.

Marmox Boards are high performance, reinforced insulation boards made of waterproof (when water is not under high pressure) extruded polystyrene, each side being faced with fibreglass mesh embedded into a waterproof (when water is not under high pressure) cement polymer mortar. Marmox Boards are light-weight construction boards offering the perfect solution for insulating and waterproofing in one operation. In addition to that, Marmox Boards are provided with a specially modified layer enhancing the adhesive tensile strength of the tile adhesive.

We now specify Marmox shower bases for all our tiled showers.

Clearwater Resort

About 6 months ago we were approached by a developer at Clearwater Resort asking for our help in repairing and finishing incomplete tiling work from another tiling company who let them down.
This developer was impressed with our workmanship, our professionalism and our organisation of projects that he asked us to continue with the rest of their development project.
This opportunity was not one we would turn down, so even though we were already booked up 8-10 weeks ahead, we took on the challenge. We have been there ever since and continue to provide them with an expert finish.

We are now booked 3-4 months ahead, working not only at Clearwater, but completing many other rebuild work and renovations for other contractors.
These include..  Jim The Builder, Urban Construction & ZBuilt.

We are proud of our efforts in getting this far, by building our reputation as being a reliable and efficient tiling company with expert tilers who do a fabulous job!

Now we are tendering for the big jobs in the commercial sector as well! Watch this space!

This months blog I thought I would share another service we provide along with our tiling service.
15-20 years ago waterproofing never used to be a required procedure when building or renovating bathrooms, but it is a standard requirement in all new builds now.

However when renovating it is still not required to be signed off by the council. Although this is true we provide a Certificate to show this has been completed by an authorised waterproofing applicator for all wet areas whether it is a renovation or new build.

I have noticed that not all tilers offer this, or even provide a waterproofing service. This is something that helps us stand out from the others.

We use a BRANZ approved waterproofing membrane to all wet areas and follow the required procedure.
We provide a 10 year warranty.

Bath cradle tanking

We feel it to be a crucial stage in tiling wet area’s to prevent future problems caused by water damage which can potentially rot wooden substrates, lift tiles, or if on a second level, leak down through the walls to the lower level causing massive building issues.
So, for a nominal charge at the time, we always suggest to our clients to waterproof anyway, even if it didn’t exist prior to their renovations or EQC repairs.

Today Homes- show home

Wow, another month has passed us by! It’s April already.

We are proud to say we have just completed a tiling project for Today Homes. Below are pictures of the Ensuite and Bathroom of their latest show home at Sovereign Palms, Kaiapoi… The feature wall is absolutely exquisite. A polished porcelain tile with a look of earth and marble combined. Gorgeous!

The flooring in the Bathroom and Ensuite is also a polished porcelain, and the finished look is no less than stunning!

All our work is completed to the highest standard, with attention to detail from start to finish… and we even polish the tiles before we leave!
